Verizon Gift Supports Continuing ITEC Research

For a second year, Verizon has made a generous gift in support of the Texas A&M Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center’s (ITEC’s) research efforts, providing funding to support activities including telecommunications technology evaluation, testing, and exercises. These unsolicited grants are helping to ensure ITEC has the resources to provide global leadership for the advancement of interoperability for first responders, as well as the extension of broadband access and useability in rural areas.

“These gifts are generous and visionary,” said Director Walt Magnussen. “Verizon continues to bring industry insights and technical expertise that is helping our team remain current with the latest information and technology. We are grateful for this financial support of our mission and look forward to ongoing collaborations.”
